This site is provided as a public service by the Educational Employees’ Supplementary Retirement System of Fairfax County (ERFC) and is intended only for viewing and retrieving information. Operational transactions such as designating beneficiaries or running estimates can be done by logging in to your secure ERFCDirect portal. Estimates are based on Fairfax County Public Schools’ records and information provided to ERFC by the Virginia Retirement System (VRS) and should not be interpreted as either a promise of or contract for a given level of benefits. If it is later determined that information used in the calculation of this estimate is incorrect, the amount of the ERFC benefit may differ from the estimate. Estimates do not include any reductions required by a domestic relations order or a child or child and spousal support obligation. In the event of any conflict between this estimate and the provisions of the 

ERFC plan at the time of retirement, as interpreted by the ERFC trustees, the latter will prevail. 

Members and beneficiaries must apply in writing to ERFC to receive benefits to which they are entitled. If a member or beneficiary does not apply for benefits on the date at which he or she becomes eligible, benefits will not commence until ERFC receives the application. Benefits can be paid retroactively but may not exceed 90 days from the date the member applies.
